Summer is on the way and that means we can expect lighter winds in the near future. Luckily that doesn’t mean kiters have to put their favorite hobby on hold.
The best way to take advantage of the summer breeze is by cruising the waters on a hydrofoil board. A hydrofoil is designed to lift out of the water and create considerable less drag, thus requiring less power to get riders going. Most foilboards have different mast lengths available so riders can learn the skill in waters as shallow as 20 inches. Foiling is for everyone and the waters of Matheson Hammock Park create a perfect flatwater area for kiters to learn the ropes.
