The final South Florida SUP Battle of 2017 between the 954 (Broward) and 305 (Dade), was held in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday Nov 19th.
The race was expanded from SUP to include, OC-1 and Surf Skis. With 55 paddlers, it was the largest 305-954 battle of the year—even drawing a strong contingency from the 561 (Palm Beach County).
This beautiful morning was a great example of the camaraderie, competition, fun and generosity that exists in the South Florida paddle community.
The proceeds to the event went to help families in Puerto Rico that are still struggling to recover from Hurricane Maria.
2018 promises to hold a new series of bigger and better battles from the organizers (JP-Austraila ambassador Packet Casey and SUP the Workout’s Melina Cherry).
Special thanks to Keelan Bailey for some great shots.
